Halo Infinite shows the first trailer for the cooperative campaign

Several members of the 343 Industries development team have come together to offer a demo of Halo: Infinite’s co-op mode, a feature initially planned for May but finally available in August. Before this mode reaches the hands of all Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC players, it will go through a public testing phase, which if everything goes as planned will be activated through the Insider program today (although it is still nothing is written in stone).

Halo Infinite’s cooperative campaign supports four players, all of whom will be the Master Chief. The progress will be stored in a separate file, and the player will be able to decide whether to use that progress to continue with the solo campaign or just leave it there to continue co-op when rejoining their teammates. The progress of each will be independent and the system will dynamically mark the missions that everyone has completed. If there is one thing that at least one player has not finished, the signal will be mission incomplete. There are exceptions, including collectibles.

At the gameplay level, the artificial intelligence will behave differently depending on the number of players in the game. It is a system of difficulty that scales and whose objective is to maintain the challenge regardless of the number of participants. Other items like ammo and supply boxes also scale. This mechanic is present in virtually every cooperative mode in any game. What Halo Infinite will not have is a drop in / drop out system, since if a player leaves the game the rest will have to return to the menu to form the team again.

Regarding the separation distances between team members, the system allows you to move away, but if you exceed the limit, a warning will appear that, if ignored, will end up killing the player to return him to his group. If the player dies in combat, they will be able to see the first person view of their teammates and respawn when deemed safe. If the entire squad falls in combat, it will return to the last save point. In case an unbearable difficulty has been selected for the group, it can be changed in the middle of the session.

Finally, mention the existence of the Mission Replay function, which allows you to complete missions already completed with all the improvements obtained.
