We put an end to the numerous novelties that the publisher Annapurna Interactive has left us with Flock, a project behind which we find developers such as Richard Hogg and Ricky Haggett, two of those responsible for Hohokum, a game published by Sony in 2014 that coincidentally (or no) today it has arrived on Steam. The title, which will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Games Pass and PC, has been announced as a cooperative game “about the joy of flying and collecting adorable creatures”.

In Flock, players take on the role of flying shepherds who take care of their own flock of flying creatures. You will start with a small flock of flying sheep that must be fed and herded into fresh, unspoiled pastures. Along the way our flying shepherd will uncover the secrets of the highlands and its mysterious wild creatures. Most are friendly and with a little skill they can be persuaded to join the group. “The game is an ode to the joy of flying and discovering,” explains the publisher.

As the group grows and the sheep have more wool, the option to shear them to make hats, cardigans and even socks will open up. “Will you find all the creatures? Even the very rare and elusive ones? Will you keep them to yourself or share them with your friends? Will you knit the longest scarf ever seen? Will you find the legendary Golden Bewl?”, these are some of the questions that the game developers ask future Flock players.

It is no coincidence that Flock is a game about flying creatures. In part, Hohokum is too. In this title, the protagonist is a kite-like flying creature that travels through colorful worlds interacting with characters and environments to discover secrets. Despite the fact that Hohokum has a series of objectives and activities, players are totally free to get lost in the varied universe that it offers.
