Microsoft tests a plan to share Game Pass Ultimate

The Game Pass Ultimate family plan shows its paw. Microsoft has announced that starting today, Insider users in Ireland and Colombia have a plan that allows them to share all the benefits of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription with up to four friends or family members (from the same country). It is unknown for now if this novelty will later be extended to Insiders from other countries or when it will be available to everyone.

“Starting today, in Colombia and Ireland, Xbox Insiders can try a plan that allows multiple people to share the benefits of Game Pass Ultimate,” explains Tyler Mittleider, technical program manager at Microsoft. “This makes it even easier to play the best Game Pass games with friends and family across console, PC, and the cloud by letting you add up to four people to your subscription, all with one-time access to games, content, and content. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits.

With the start of these tests, the rumors that since last March spoke about Microsoft’s intention to offer a family plan for Game Pass subscribers are accepted. For now the plan is in the testing phase and that means that nothing is set in stone yet. For example, the number of profiles could change. On the other hand, Microsoft has not yet commented on the price. The only thing we can guarantee is that the family plan will be cheaper than four separate subscriptions.

Game Pass for Xbox and PC is priced at 9.99 euros per month, while Game Pass Ultimate goes up to 12.99 euros per month. Its benefits include access to the catalog of Xbox and PC games, games from the cloud on iOS and Android, discounts, Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer, rewards and EA Play, a service with access to a selection of Electronic Arts titles for console and PCs. The last time Microsoft updated the number of Game Pass subscribers was in January, when the service reached 25 million customers.

The next big Game Pass expansion should come when Microsoft completes its purchase of Activision Blizzard and can add its games to the catalogue.
